at Jazz Café, 31st January 2012

Having graced audiences since the age of twelve with local bands performing across the country, he has wowed audiences with his incredible voice. In 2010, Wathiq spent a year studying abroad at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Norway. Since then, he has performed with various ensembles in France, Portugal and Spain singing styles from Jazz to Traditional Portuguese “Fado” as well as singing at the South Africa vs. Norway match in Oslo with the North Sea Big Band and Shannon Mowday.

He now meets up with his Quartet featuring leading musicians:
Benjamin Jeptha on bass,
Claude Cozens on drums
and Nicholas Williams on piano
in their first concert for 2012 in an intimate venue adorned as a cafe. The Wathiq Hoosain Quartet is a dynamic band that performs familiar Jazz standards to more contemporary styles that will leave you mesmerised.
