Alistair Andrews - Bass Player - Profile


Alistair Andrews is a professional bass player and bass clinician.

He specialises in multi-string basses. He plays Warwick custom 6 string fretted and fretless, as well as 12 string fretless basses.Besides his own band he plays for the Alvin Dyers Project among others.

He was born in 1960 and started listening to funk, jazz, African music, classical, rock and fusion already at a young age. His father played jazz guitar and banjo and was a strong influence on him. Jaco Pastorius would later become a major musical influence for him.

As a professional bass player, Alistair played with International greats such as Phil Driscol, Efrain Toro, Alvin Dyers, Winston Mankunku, Richard Schilder and Harold Jephta.

He released his debut album "Your Unconditional Love." in 2000. The next one is on its way.

He also plan to collaborate with various musicians from all over the continent to work on world music projects.
