Hotep Idris Galeta combines with Onaje Allan Gumbs

It was only after reading through the December issue of All About Jazz - New York that I discovered about pianists Onaje Allan Gumbs's and Hotep Idris Galeta's duo concerts at New York's Shutters Cafe.

The series of concerts will run from 13 December 2007 until 15 December 2007.

On 13 December 2007 it will be a duo concert featuring Hotep's and Onaje's compositions.

On 14 December they will be accompanied by South African jazz vocalist Sathima Bea Benjamin, saxophonist TK Blue, bassist Marcus McLaurine, percussionist Bujo Kevin Jones, and drummer George Gray.

The final performance on 15 December 2007 will see Cameroonian vocalist Gino Sitson, saxophonist TK Blue and percussionist Bujo Kevin Jones joining the group.

When I spoke to Hotep in the week he was very excited about these concerts.

We hope to see these musicians in South Africa soon.

We're working on getting the two of them to Cape Town - worry not!

We are looking forward to that.
