A panel consisting of SA most acclaimed educators / performers awarded Andre 1st Prize at the prestigious 2009 SAMRO Piano Overseas Scholarship competition.
Andre has recently returned from highly celebrated concerts in Norway and Sweden performing with acclaimed Norwegian saxophonist Morten Halle,most notably to a capacity filled Victoria Nasionale Jazz club in Oslo!
This concert will feature Petersen's cutting edge trio with special guest Feya Faku on trumpet, performing some of Petersen's original compositions. His eclectic musical inspiration draws from a broad array of musical influences such as indigenous SA music, colonial church hymns, Ghoema, Classical, Stride piano, Hip-Hop and beyond!
Andre will be pursuing a Masters Degree at the prestigious Lemmens Instituut in Belgium.
