This August, the team at Best of Ekapa Underground Hip Hop and siSTAR cypHER bring you Ladies in Hip Hop #3. The third installment of what is destined to be a growing movement in Hip Hop culture.
B.O.E runs with the purpose of promoting the hip hop industry and also uniting the huge hip hop community dispersed around the Western Cape and to satisfy the hungry hip hop masses. The event is held weekly, at Purple Turtle, 31 Shortmarket Street, Cape Town, South Africa.

The project has taken on the initiative to dedicate one Thursday of the month to the mothers of our nation, humbly presenting “Ladies in Hip Hop”, which aims at celebrating women pursuing hip hop culture, and availing an opportunity for growth, and exposure to both those in attendance and those who take the stage.

This time around, we go big, in partnership with all encompassing hip hop out fit, siSTAR cypHER, hosting a Woman’s Month Special, showcasing quite a number of artists. Acts that have been confirmed
are as follows:
  • Black Athena (from Project Breakfree)
  • Andy Leigh (from Mellow Vision)
  • Sister G (from The Bush Doctors)
  • Ashleigh (from siSTAR cypHER)
  • Lithal Li
  • Swifty (formally from R.I.P)
  • Shami Shamrock
  • Lorin-Lee Henderson
  • Coco Putuma
  • DJ’z Kato & Que
We are welcoming and awaiting more artists and DJ’s to step up and bring their best, contributing to what is set to be a night to remember.
