Band Aid - Julius May

The G Spot in conjunction with the WCMA is hosting a Band Aid on 27 April 2011 at The G Spot Lounge in Epping in order to raise funds for musicians in despair.
The particular beneficiary at this event will be guitarist Julius May, a young man who became susceptible to substance abuse and other temptations and pitfalls of the industry like alcohol.

After a suicide attempt 3 months ago Julius decided to turn his life around and go to a rehab for cleansing and restart his life.

Ironically the 27 April which is Freedom day will mark Julius's discharge from rehab and the talented young guitarist has pledged to assist other aspiring muso's who experience the same struggle in the industry.

He will also perform with his band on the day.

Musicians who offered their time and talents to the cause thus far are:
Jonathan Rubain
Allou April
Blackkurrant
Sammy Webber
Gio Band
The Next Step
Brown Suga
Rudolph Paulse
Q'base Collective
The Young Visitors
Litmus 5

Fires will be provided for a Bring n Braai and the doors will open at 2pm
The live action will kick off at 4pm.
Donation is R40

Any bands or artist who wants to contribute are welcome to come along or call William Rezandt on 073 399 0244 for more info.

"Jazz and freedom go hand in hand. That explains it. There isn't any more to add to it. If I do add to it, it gets complicated. That's something for you to think about. You think about it and dig it. You dig it..." Thelonious Monk
