CAPE TOWN BIG BAND JAZZ FESTIVAL 2008

One of the highlights on the Cape Town Jazz Calendar, The Cape Town Big Band Jazz Festival, is taking place on 29, 30, 31 May 2008, at the Baxter Concert Hall. This year is the tenth anniversary of the festival.

# Alumni Big Band

One of the highlights of the festival, will be the Alumni Big Band. The Alumni Big Band consists of musicians who have been involved in the Festival since the early days. James Bassingthwaighte, Francois le Roux, Marc de Kock, Chris Engel, Dan Shout, Vaughn Fransch, Alex Gibbons, Myles McDonald, Lwanda Gogwana, Jody Engelbrecht, Ross McDonald, Kelly Bell, Lee Gelderbloem, Graham Beyer, Shaun Johannes, Henrich Goosen, Sakhile Moleshe. As well as guest artists and friends.

Professor John Thomas from Los Angeles, California will be back to participate in the Festival again.. John is a highly sought-after lead trumpet player who has performed with a galaxy of the worlds’ top stars and can be heard on hundreds of TV shows
