The Amy Biehl Foundation will be hosting the second annual Youth Spirit Award event on 15 August 2009 at Marimba Restaurant at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Nominations for this annual award are based on evidence of the nominee’s initiative and dedication in service to others. The Award goes to young people who are already making a difference. Our hope is to challenge them to greater heights of service through the recognition of the Award and exposure to Amy Biehl’s life and work. A Selection Committee will choose three finalists from the nominations. At the event, the winner will receive prizes to the value of R25 000 which includes a Damelin bursary for 2010. The runner-ups will each receive prizes to the value of R5 000 which includes a Damelin Mowbray bursary for 2010. The organisation supported by the winner, the school the winner attends and the winner’s nominator will each receive a prize.
A 14 – 19 year old youth will be announced the Amy Biehl Youth Spirit Award Winner for 2009. The winner will be selected by a panel from the entries submitted as someone who is making a big difference in their community.
Be inspired by the wonderful work of the South African youth and the talent of the Amy Biehl Foundation children who will be performing with Aviva Pelham.
